Not that he'll admit that to anyone. Ever.
As pleasant as she sounds right now, which, to be honest, is a little jarring considering it's him calling, he knows her better.
She's been spiraling, and holding it together by the skin of her teeth.
"Meg spilled the beans over tea last week," Pete says. "Woulda called sooner but things have been a right mess over here. Holding up A'right?"
