He rubs his eyes and keeps working.

There's a knock at Wisdom's office door and then Brian is opening the door. He comes in carrying two cups each containing a purple liquid. "Your morning smoothie."

Brian makes a quick glance around the room to see that Wisdom is alone. Brian closes the door. He places one of the cups in front of Wisdom. "Do you have a few minutes?"

Pete leans in and stares at the drink in front of him warily. "Yeah," he says slowly, not looking up at Brian. "Yeah, I got time...Braddock? Why the hell is it purple?"

"It's just fruit and vitamins, Wisdom. Berries and bananas and a protein supplement." Brian gives him an even look. "Are you okay with your new living and work arrangements?"

Pete takes it and drinks it slowly, wrinkling his nose, but says nothing about it.

"What, with Pryde?" he asks, looking up at Brian. "s'fine. I think."

"Cheers." Brian drinks down his drink.

"It's a lot to take on all at once. After all of this time. And you know Kitty: it's not like she holds anything back."

Pete grimaces at the smoothie. "No, she really doesn't. She's been here just about twenty-four hours and she can't stop talking about getting married. To me. Which, as we both know, is both a terrible idea, and one that's probably mostly reactionary to the idea of being along for the rest of her life cuz the other two idiots couldn't make it work with her...not that she shoulda agreed to marry Rasputin to begin with. that had disaster written all over it from the start."

He sits back. "Still. She keeps sayin' she wants a life here with me, and all I can think about is the fact that in about a month, she'll wake up, realize that she wants something different and then be off."

Brian winces. "Ouch. Were you two talking about marriage before when you were dating?" He couldn't argue about Colossus. A man who turned into armour with that fiery of a temper was a dangerous combination.

"Maybe. But maybe not. She seemed committed when I spoke to her. She's a woman who has made up her mind. That is something to be concerned about, Wisdom."
